Save and restore window groups
Provide a way to save and restore "sessions" similar to firefox / chrome. This would allow you to launch and group a list of processes after restarting or by clicking some kind of shortcut

Minimize entire group when a window is minimized
I'd find it very useful to have this optional.
And when restored (even maximized) it returns to the group ^^

I’ll fix this – for the time being, you can right click on a tab and click “Minimize windows” which will minimize the group.

Show the taskbar icon for top window in group (like in WindowTabs v650)
Instead of showing a group of icons, show the actual icon for the top window so that it can be docked with other windows of the same type in the Windows 7 taskbar. This is the same behavior as existed in WindowTabs v650. For example:

Yeah, I actually get bitten by this sometimes too. I’ll add something, probably just delay closing for a few seconds so you have a chance to undo.

Close Group Function
would be nice if all grouped sessions (of the same program) could be closed with one click.

Thanks Hugo, I will do this – its simple. May take a couple releases unless it gets more votes but it will get done!

I modified this to represent the "bubble’ mode we discussed, let’s see if other people like the idea!

Add a tree view showing groups and windows
This would display a list of groups and, under each group, a list of the windows in the group - kind of like a Explorer file display where the "groups" are directories and the "windows" are files. You could multi select windows and drag them into different groups or drag one group into another to merge the windows in two groups

I have added some error reporting functionality to the latest version (2012.3.8), if you run this version and it crashes, we will get an error report which will help us diagnose the problem. Sorry for the inconvenience, will work to get this fixed for you quickly!

Duplicate tab with right-click
Not sure if this is possible, but it would be nice to be able to right-click on a tab and choose to create a new duplicate of that tab in the same group.

This is possible and a good idea. We would be able to launch a new instance of the process (based on the command line) and then pull in any windows created by that process.

Allow programs to be part of a group but not grouped on taskbar
Allow only like-programs to be grouped in the taskbar. For example, in a group I have 4 Putty windows, an SFTP window, and a MySQL Tools window. By setting this group to "combine similar", the on the taskbar I'd see 3 buttons, one for the Putty windows, one for SFTP and one for MySQL Tools - but they are all grouped in one single WT group.
It could be optional per group, or a setting to a program as in - if this program is present in a group, apply to group.

Problems with PowerPoint and Excel 2007
Hello
I was used to use office tab for office application but I moved to a 64bit on XP.
As Office tabs is not available anymore for 64bits on XP, I'm now also using windows tabs for office which is also much more power ful
BUT
I'm facing some issues with power point.I first went for both soft to options/advance/display and tick Show all window in task bar.
I'm using the auto-grouping function.
Then When I have 2 presentation(2 books) open, I get 3 tabs with following names :
1-Microsoft office - Presentation 1
2- Presentation 1
3- Presentation… more6 votes -
Add a "lock" option for tabs
This would prevent the tab order from changing and prevent windows from being pulled out until its unlocked.

Provide a way to choose the shortcut location in the installer
The installer should allow me to choose where I want to place the application shortcut instead of hard coding it to

Fixing pinned applications when grouped.
I was able to pin programs to the taskbar in v650, but doing this in in the new version will change the icon to WindowTabs and icon path is "C:\Program Files (x86)\WindowTabs\WindowTabs.exe".

Ungroup functionality: release, tile, cascade, save, restore, ignore
It would be useful to be able to define how window geometry behave when freed from a tab group, either by WindowTab termination or by explicit release.
The window tab would have an option to release the window from the current tab group.
A setup option for each window and/or each filtered executable would offer the release behaviors:
- tile, place ungrouped window origin at variable vertical & horizontal offset from window group so that windows are fully visible and docked
- cascade, place ungrouped window origin at fixed vertical & horizontal offset from window group so that windows overlap … more3 votes -
Add auto hide for maximized tabs, tabs will fade out until top of screen is touched by mouse
When I go to use a program then maximize it, the tabs are there, but they always get in the way when I want to click something at the top of the window. So maybe have the ability to set a time limit for each individual program w/ WindowTabs to show when the tab bar at the top will appear.

I’ll add some kind of “autohide” which slides the tabs away when maximized after some timelimit
