  1. 2 Apps within one tab

I have opened 2 notepad and would like compare the texts. it would be nice to have these 2 notepads within one tab, so I can move them arround without loosing the relation.

    • Save group size/position, force new instances into current size

I would like four new options in the Settings,Programs tab.

First, a Save Size/Position checkbox. This would save the last size and location of the associated tab container, and reuse it when creating a new container. That behavior (save last) would be modified by the following options.

Second, a Force Size/Position checkbox. This would force new program instances to use the current Size/Position, or if a new instance then use the last saved. Instead of new instances sometimes resizing the tab container to fit the new instance, the new instance would be forced into the pre-existing Size/Position.

      Third, a Lock…

            • hotkeys to relocate current tab within its group

Ability to shift position of current tab left/right within its tab group via hotkey. Presently requires drag+drop, which I have found to be especially error-prone -- easy to accidentally close the tab instead. (I'm running v650 now, but I see no mention of this having been added in newer versions)

                • Option to "right align" label, for example to show file name instead of path.

Fix tab label names. In some programs (eg Excel 2007) the tab label is the path name. Since this is a long name, the filename gets cut off and every tab has the same name, making it difficult to find the tab you're looking for when you have a lot of tabs open.

Solution; make the tab labels display only the file name, not the full path.

I emailed about this last December but I don't think it got added to the list.

                        • bugfix: Outlook hiding main window

outlook is hiding the main window (inbox etc) when using WindowTabs after a couple of minutes. the child windows (single mails) stay on. When I open the Inbox again it starts as a new (unrelated) task and hides again after a few minutes. I had 12(!) instances of outlook running without even realizing.

I found out out today by opening:
Outlook notification icon > Open outlook > many instances.

It would be nice to be able to have the tab width autosize to the width of the text, with options for minimum and maximum sizes.

                              • Don't show hidden mintty window in tab

mintty works by opening a cmd.exe and then hiding it before showing the main window. WindowTabs sometimes keeps the command win open when I open a new instance (http://img204.imageshack.us/img204/4371/windowtabsmintty.png).

I can't close that ugly extra window, because it shuts down the main window if I do so. Can you please fix it? Clearly mintty is trying to hide that window but you're not allowing it to. I'm using the autogrouping feature.
